Alexis Oliva and Yanira Lopez are the macramé artists and makers behind the Miami local brand Yerbamala Designs. They create modern macramé decor pieces using traditional macramé techniques at their home based studio.
They consider their aesthetic to be half way between “more is more” and “less is more”, as they feel comfortable creating pieces following both trends. Attention to detail and a clean execution are a must in their work.
Their inspiration comes from nature, architecture, their beloved hometown Havana, a city of mixtures and contrasts. And of course, the many flavors and textures Miami has to offer.
