I studied at Smith College, New York University Graduate School, Corcoran School of Art, Penland, and Greenwich House Pottery. I am a founder of Tribeca Potters, a studio in New York, just outside Manhattan in Long Island City, shared by several other studio potters. The space is bright and very well equipped—we welcome visitors any time. I am married with two grown children. My husband shares my love of beautiful hand crafted objects. We live in a rambling Upper West Side apartment and I take the subway weekdays to my studio. We have built a house and studio in Litchfield County, Connecticut, and every weekend I can work in the country with a break now and then to take my two springer spaniels, Marley and Sam, on hikes. We are surrounded in both our homes with all manner of wood and ceramic treasures, collected from travels, shows and friends.
I create: Functional and decorative ceramics.
I use: White stoneware and stoneware slip, studio-made glazes
Favorite local hangout: New York Fried Chicken
Design should be: Functional and clean.
