West Elm Australia’s Design Crew recently partnered with Melbourne-based fashion brand Obus to make over their creative work space. The space was transformed from functional to fab within a few hours!
With a cult-like following, the Obus aesthetic is bold and design-forward. The space needed to act as a canvas for the team to get together to discuss business, as well as create new season collections. Working with Creative Director + Founder Kylie Zerbst, our Design Crew decked out the space with new pieces for the season and hardworking furniture items, plus a couple of custom additions (check out those Obus upholstered stools!), to ensure the space was as practical as it is inspiring.
Tour the space below!
Collaborating with Haymes Paint to create a paint palette of terracotta and pink, our Design Crew chose accessories to complement Kylie’s desk.
“I took into account Kylie’s brief, and then took it to the next level. The key piece was the meeting table – which they already had, so we kept it, and refreshed their seating, added a rug to define the space, and placed a pendant for maximum drama. On Mondays, when the in-house model comes in, the Fulton Bar Cart acts as the moveable fitting station; come Wednesday it’s housing samples and inspiration files; once Friday rolls around – it’s the perfect post-work cocktail station. I love the idea of pieces serving double-duty, so we stayed focused on making smart, simple additions that complement what was already in play,” added Rhys Duggan, Visual Lead – west elm Australia.
Being a creative space, our Fulton Bar Cart does triple duty as an organisation station, display shelving and, come Friday afternoon, a drinks trolley!
