In work situations, you’ll often find that the people you collaborate the closest with soon become some of your most cherished friends. This was the case with Judith Todd, a home stylist at the west elm Oklahoma City store, and her clients Justin and Christina Newport. The family recently moved into a contemporary 2900-square-foot home in the Nichols Hills neighborhood in OKC. They sought out the expertise from the west elm Design Crew to design their modern space – and along the way, became fast friends with Judith. Take a closer look at this amazing home + learn more about the process of creating it below!
“I absolutely loved working with the Newport family,” Judith says. “They really wanted to find furniture pieces that not only went with their modern vibe, but were family-friendly as well. I encourage families with kids to get a large blank art canvas and let their kids make some cool art with complementing colors to fill a wall space. They took my advice and used this art in their front sitting room to go with their blue Leather Denmark Sofa. It really turned out amazing! The Newports have been a delight to work with over the past six months. I’m happy to not only consider them as clients, but friends now as well.”
As far as design for the main living room area, the Andes L-Shaped Sectional in Twill Stone helped to anchor the open living room/kitchen concept and create a separate space without blocking the view of the floor-to-ceiling windows and fireplace—and the TV. Judith notes, “The Rosanna Media Console behind the sofa ties the warmth of the living room with the crisp white tones in the kitchen seamlessly. The Leather Lucas Swivel Chairs were perfect for the space because they can be moved around with ease.”
