When Jay Long was a highschooler growing up in Oklahoma City, his sentiments about his hometown mirrored those of any restless teenager: he wanted out. “There wasn’t any excitement for me here,” he said. Shortly after, though, things started to change. “I stuck around for a couple more years and we started to see things happen here and things started to get more exciting.” Like many communities across America in recent years, Oklahoma City has witnessed a resurgence in creative energy and entrepreneurial zeal, something that has engendered a renewed sense of regional pride and support.
