In 2013, west elm launched a small, experimental endeavor called west elm LOCAL. A collection of handcrafted regional goods, west elm LOCAL seeks to share the work of local makers while creating a lasting impact in the communities that we call home. Today, our LOCAL program boasts a network of over 500 makers and we’re looking to add more!

Are you a maker or designer? Are you interested in having your products sold and featured at west elm stores? Now’s your chance! We’re currently hosting an open call for makers to participate in our west elm LOCAL showcase. Register and submit a portfolio of your work by June 12 for consideration at westelmlocalshowcase.eventbrite.com. We look forward to meeting you!

Hey, Donnamarie! So sorry to hear that! I’d advise reaching out to your regional store to inquire about becoming a LOCAL maker there. Each store is actually responsible for selecting their LOCAL assortments, so this is the best place to start!

Good afternoon – just inquiring about the west elm local business grant contest – does it still exist? I am a grant writer and I have a client that produces plant-based soaps and lotions. Could you respond to me if you can? Thank you for your time!

Hi, Hope! We don’t have current plans to reinstate our Grant Contest, but you can certainly inquire with your local west elm store about becoming a LOCAL maker in their assortment. Simply reach out to your closest west elm store and ask to speak to a manager.
