After Ali Maffucci and her husband, Lu were married in Summer of 2015, they returned to their New Jersey apartment and knew it was time to get rid of Lu’s bachelor pad furniture. Ali works from home on her blog Inspiralized, so she needed a space that would provide inspiration and reflect their new life together. The couple swapped out the heavy, dark furniture for pieces that felt cozy, modern, and light. They sought inspiration in their travels, bringing in pieces that reminded them of their trips together. The cactus they lovingly named Burt reminds them of their time in Arizona and the natural elements like eucalyptus leaves create a warm and airy California feel. See the before + after below:

“We chose a cactus and the yellow potter because we fell in love with Sedona, AZ after a trip last October. This is our way to bring a little bit of Arizona style into our home.”

“The final item we added was our nook – a simple leather chair, faux fur throw, with an ottoman with a side table, perfect for Sunday morning coffee and the New York Times. We fight over who gets to sit there each time and soak up the morning sun!”
