“My personal style is very rustic with a cabin flair. I like to mix reclaimed woods and greys with vintage or vintage-inspired pieces. I love my my type writer – it’s a 1920s Remington that I found up north at an antique barn but equally love the new addition vintage-inspired pieces like the arrow book ends, Alexa and Stria dressers and Library chair. They all fit in seamlessly together.”

“I painted one accent wall grey & the rest white to offset the white flooring. I drew inspiration from the colours in the rug when picking out the frames for the photo wall. It was so hard to decide between the Kasbah or Colca wool rug.. So I chose both! The Colca for the living space & the Kasbah to lead into the bedroom. I find living in a modern condo doesn’t give off very homey vibes, so with the apartment transformation I really tried to pick pieces that would make my space feel like home.”

“Textile wise I love wool blankets & pillows…it may be a slight obsession! I went with ivory African mud cloth pillows to compliment the salt & pepper grey sofa. I think the antlers tie together the cabin theme as well as the frame wall. My friends Kristi & Jeremy from Woven magazine sent me over some of their west coast photography to print. I really wanted to fill the wall with forest & mountains, to kind of off set the concrete jungle of the city.”

“Lastly one of my favourite pieces is the rose gold mirror! The shape is so simple but it manages to be a main feature piece. Between the Rose gold mirror, brass lamps & copperware in my kitchen everything comes together perfectly. I absolutely love the finished look, this may be one of the coziest cabin-apartment ever, right down to the deer door stop!”

Pillows, blankets and warm rugs are so essential and you have captured that amazingly. We live in the mountains and use them as comfort regularly.
