Mara Greenwald is obsessed with evolution. The theory in general (she plans on naming her next dog Darwin), but also the concept as it applies to different facets of her life. Mara’s blog, Design Evolving chronicles her love for home décor, travel, and design, all through the lens of somebody whose sensibilities and interests are constantly changing. In 2014, Mara purchased her first home, a condo that has become a testing ground for new ideas and projects. Check out the photos, plus Mara’s insights into her space below!
“After buying my condo,” Mara says, “I decided to do my best to decorate gradually. That way I could save up and buy products I loved that would last instead of buying a ton of cheaper furniture I’d have to replace. I mostly stuck to this, but still rushed into a couple things. One was a gallery wall above my TV. I recently updated it and am SO much happier with the result. Most people want bigger TVs. I spend my time worrying about how to decorate around it to make it feel smaller.”
“I started out with a dark grey accent wall in the bedroom,” Mara says. “I liked it, but didn’t love it. After living in the space for a while, I decided to take a risk and try something bold: dark teal walls. I absolutely love the color.”
