Having a Christmas tree during the holidays might seem impossible if you live in a small space—or on a budget! The gals from The Merrythought, a lifestyle site devoted to simple living, are here to prove otherwise. Using a basket rather than a tree skirt and a small tree rather than a large one, you can get your home into the holiday spirit without hogging space or breaking the bank. Check out Caitlin and Manda’s tips for getting this Scandinavian-Chic look for your own home below!
1. Place a plastic bucket upside-down in your basket to provide a base for your tree. Unlike filling the basket with gravel, this will keep the entire feature light enough to move around as needed.
2. With your tree attached to a small stand, pop it on top of the bucket in your basket!
3. Surround the bottom of the tree with a blanket (we think our Faux Fur Sheepskin works great!) and accessorize with a few lights or ornaments.
4. Surround with presents and you’re good-to-go!
