We don’t want to send anybody into a panic, but Labor Day is officially one month away! If the summer seems to have flown by in the blink of an eye, we definitely feel you. To help make the most of what remains of the long days and warm weather of summer, we’ve teamed up with our pals over at PUNCH to bring you a bang-up collection of end-of-summer cocktails, each concocted by a different bartender. First up? A delicious update on the classic poolside Piña Colada, brought to you by Jeremy Oertel of Brooklyn’s Donna.
“When I worked at Dram, we had a Branca Menta chilling machine,” Oertel says. “One of our cocktail waitresses used to bring ice cream sandwiches in, and we’d drizzle it over top.” The Brancolada was born from the idea of a slushy, summery Fernet Branca Menta-infused dessert drink. A creamy melding of orange and pineapple juices, golden rum, coconut milk, and cool Branca Menta, the Brancolada is an all-season staple at Donna.
