Do you have any idea where your home decor comes from?

From the shadows of volcanos where wild seagrass is harvested for our woven baskets, to cities on the sea where pearl oysters are gathered to create our capiz designs, some of our most beloved products are handcrafted across the Philippines.

It’s always so inspiring to visit these different communities of Filipino artisans.

Not only are the traditional techniques so great to watch from start to finish, but we’re also always very proud to meet the talented craftspeople that our designs help to support.

And since we think everyone should be able to learn more about where the products in their homes come from, this year we decided to create 3 videos about our trip and the incredible craftsmanship of the Philippines.

Take a look and see for yourself!

Knowing the story behind what you’re buying makes it all that much more special.

Dear West Elm,
We are anticipating with pleasure the arrival of your new store in Palm Springs, California !
Thank you for your beautiful product lines – in particular, the Palm Springs Mid-Century Modern Furniture as well as Modernist home accessories line ~ …and all of your fine product lines.
We are also interested in seeing any videos you have about the Philippine Craftspeople -specifically- crafting the Mother of Pearl and Capiz shell products, as your video found shows only the Philippine woven goods…!
I thank you and remain,
Yours Sincerely,

Jake Lemkowitz
