This season west elm is thrilled to collaborate with celebrated Brooklyn-based designer Paul Loebach. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Paul designs furniture and furnishings that derive from established styles — including Shaker and American Federalist — and updates them using modern production techniques.
In his collection for west elm, you’ll find Paul’s love of turned wood and his knack for creating furniture that is oddly familiar yet completely new. All of Paul’s designs for west elm feature turned solid ash legs. Each of his 5 designs — a chair, a gate-leg expandable table, a tall storage unit, a credenza and a round side table — are available in a gray+natural or white finish.
In the images of a sampling of Paul’s work below, you will see how his love of traditional techniques and forms — from Shaker simplicity to turned wood — are combined with modern technology and techniques to create contemporary versions of traditional furniture.
