For New York native Tamara Peterson, having a sophisticated but cozy space that’s feminine + contemporary was a true goal. What originally started as a simple kitchen remodel turned into a transformation of her 1,200+ square foot Brooklyn condo in the Clinton Hill neighborhood. Since Tamara spends a good majority of her time working from home as a creative and social media influencer, she needed to upgrade the space to work as a studio and make room for all her styling props. Tamara sought out the expertise of Interior Designer Megan Pflug to make this dream space a reality.

The boldest design element in the apartment is visible the minute you walk in the front door—a 12-foot accent wall, clad in a gold textured Calico Wallpaper. This conversation-starting wall covering helped to dictate the neutral color palette in the main living space, while connecting hints of gold in the Rejuvenation lighting pendants over the kitchen island, as well as various accessories throughout the apartment. Plants—they were a must in this sunlight-drenched space! Take a peek at this inspiring space below.

The renovation also connected with Tamara’s trip to Europe so the pop of blue on the front door was directly inspired by her travels.

“The biggest physical alteration to the unit was in the kitchen where we removed a small wall that partitioned off the original footprint of the space. The new layout allowed us to expand the kitchen all the way across the back wall and add more storage. We sourced the concrete countertops from a local maker who just happened to be down the street from Tamara’s apartment,” mentioned Megan.

The bedroom space was a chance to utilize Tamara’s favorite color—pink! For the wall color, Megan choose a custom-mixed hue that’s a “grown up pink with a lot of complexity to it.” The floor-to-ceiling drapes create height and add to the softness of the linen bedding. Hints of gold also made their way into the bedroom space.

Love the brass pendants ! The gold tree stump side table is a perfect accent to go along with that fabulous wallpaper. The gray wall in the dining area has just the right amount of color in the artwork to really make the kitchen come alive!
