Bright colors are great for the summer or a standard LA apartment but Kayla Seah, founder of fashion blog Not Your Standard is just that — not standard. Her new home in Toronto with her boyfriend matches perfectly with it’s upcoming cold weather and current fashion trends. Kayla’s ability to translate personal fashion into home decor is truly inspiring. Read on to see how Kayla infuses dark and cold colors to make a glamorous and inviting home.
We wanted a space that combined a mix of both of our styles. Combing masculine and feminine with a little Scandinavian influence. I’m quite monochromatic when it comes to design but I didn’t want the entire space to be black and white, so to balance it out we chose a deep blue color as our accent.
My favorite piece is our Marble Coffee Table. It’s clean, simple, and it was the first piece we picked.
Making sure we could fit it all in without feeling too cluttered. We only saw the space once before we moved in so it was a bit of a guessing game. I think we managed to make it all work!
We couldn’t be happier about it! It’s exactly where we want to unwind at the end of the day.
