Blueberry Lavender Compote by Whimsy & Spice

This recipe for two from Whimsy & Spice is the perfect Valentine’s Day treat — pair it with Meyer Lemon Buttermilk Cake + Mascarpone Cream.

What You’ll Need

    2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons sugar
    ½ teaspoon lemon juice
    1 cup blueberries
    ½ teaspoon dried lavender flowers

What You Do

Heat the sugar and lemon juice together over medium heat in a small saucepan until the sugar dissolves and melts. Add the blueberries and lavender, and continue to cook until the berries break down and begin to thicken. Transfer to a storage container and refrigerate until ready to use.
