Star Anise Pannacotta by Whimsy & Spice

A simple spin on a classic Italian dessert is just sweet enough for a Valentine’s Day treat for two. Serve it topped with Whimsy & Spice‘s Ginger Poached Pears.

What You’ll Need

    1 teaspoon gelatin powder
    2 tablespoons milk
    1 cup heavy cream
    ½ cup buttermilk
    12 pieces whole star anise
    ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
    edible flowers (optional)

What You Do

Dissolve the gelatin in the milk and set aside. Heat the remaining ingredients together in a small saucepan until hot, but not boiling. Remove from heat and stir in gelatin + milk mixture. Allow the star anise flavor to infuse for about 10 minutes, then strain through a fine meshed strainer. Discard the star anise. Pour mixture into individual serving bowls and refrigerate for a minimum of 5 hours before serving. Serve garnished with sliced Ginger Poached Pears. Top with edible flowers for garnish.
