Spiced Cardamom Hot Chocolate by Whimsy & Spice
What You’ll Need
- 2⅔ cups milk
⅓ cup sugar
2 tablespoons whole cardamom pods, crushed slightly
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
1/8 teaspoon ground chipotle pepper
What You Do
Bring everything to a boil in a medium saucepan, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat, allow the flavors to infuse for a few minutes, then strain through a fine-meshed strainer. Reheat if necessary. When ready to serve, pour into mugs and top with orange whipped cream. Additional garnishes could include chocolate shavings, candied orange zest and biscotti.
