welcome to mouse house living room before new west elm sectional

After living with a “massively large sectional” repurposed from her family’s previous home, Hayley (who blogs at Welcome to the Mouse House) was pleased to find west elm’s Henry Sectional better fit the scale of her new family room.

We moved into our house 3 years ago and were chained to a certain color scheme because of a massively large sectional that used to be in our old basement. We recently redid the entire family room and we knew we wanted a new sectional to be modern and gray — but still family-friendly and reasonably priced. When we discovered your Henry Sectional we fell in love and ordered!

We were pleasantly surprised at the price point and when it arrived, it was even better than I had imagined and perfect for our family of 4 to snuggle up on without taking up too much space. For years and years, I have admired the west elm catalogs and I am thrilled to finally have one of their lovely pieces of furniture in my new room.

I love it, looks great. The only thing, and it’s a pet peeve of mine is that the initial before photo is not taken from the EXACT vantage point as the after. It appears to be intentionally put in a position to appear even more crowded than it already is.

To me, this takes away from the amazing after job that was done because on it’s own, it’s a great makeover. PLEASE, always, always, always use the exact same angle and positioning of ALL before and after photos. This includes lighting. This will make your case studies appear more truthful and authentic.

Again, I love the after, the look and feel and am a huge fan of West Elm!
