This newly-enclosed porch in Virginia Highlands was designed for the owners to enjoy the tree lined street. They selected a neutral wall color but worked with west elm Home Stylist Danny Tovar from our Atlanta store to add subtle color and a hint of the outdoors in what is now an interior room. See what elements Danny used to bring the space to life!
Furniture placement was one of the biggest challenges of this space — the chairs needed to be ample and comfortable for long sittings for the couple but they also wanted a few more options for the occasional guest. I selected the Sweep Arm Chair in the Pebble Weave upholstery for its comfort and contrast in color and texture in the room. We selected the Emmerson Bench to sit under the window to accommodate guests which worked well because it does not impede the view.
The Branch Floor Lamp in bronze nestled between the two chairs provides great mood lighting at night and adds to the notion of bringing the outdoors in. To further blur the boundary between inside and out, I mixed in plants on the floor and added height and layers with plant stands and accent tables repurposed from the home.
