FEATURED:Victor Armchair + Henry Sofa + Studded Velvet Pillows

Deena combined pattern, texture and color in her new living room…

A year after moving into my new Spanish style home, I finally decided to makeover my living room. The layout of the room is rather awkward so it took me some time to plan out the room. I arranged the room around watching TV and entertaining friends and even created a reading nook centered around my Victor armchair from west elm.

I chose a color palette of blue, yellow and grey and found inspiration and ideas on Pinterest as well as a myriad of design books, magazines and home decorating TV shows. My room reflects my style with lots of patterns and fun accessories. I also did a few DIY projects which really finished off the room.

Thanks for sharing, Deena!

Love the colors – so easy and breezy! Where is that coffee table from? I am looking for a light colored table just like it!

I really love this style. My living room is a blank slate (it only has a piano in it), and I’d love to combine the Henry loveseat with the Victor armchair. I would probably need the sofa in more of a taupe color, though. (I don’t think gray would go with my curtains.)

It’s unfortunate you weren’t able to incorporate the faux fireplace since it’s the only architectural feature in the room and make it the focal point. Otherwise, it’s very nicely coordinated and I can see this passing the test of time.

I think this is absolutely beautiful. Clean lines. Vibrant Color. Simple and Elegant. Perhaps when I get rid of all of my children I will re-do my living area! Kudos, Deena!

Where are those great blue vases from? 🙂

Thanks for the comments! I’m so excited about being selected for the blog. The travertine top table came from Crate and Barrel. The vases are from Ikea and I’ve had them for eons. I agree about the faux fireplace. The front door and TV are on the other side of the room so I’m pretty restricted. I have tried many layouts but haven’t been able to figure out how to incorporate it better. I haven’t given up though!

This is a layout fail. The sofa is blocking the fireplace. Even if it’s not functioning it’s still a feature of the room. The wing back in the corner is just weird. It faces the back of the main seating group. The furniture selection and colors are nice but the layout is just weird.

I really like this room! The carpets and pillows go very well together. Thanks for the inspiration!

Amazing! Love the color scheme. I don’t think it matters at all that you can’t see the fireplace- sometimes they just get in the way! Can I ask where you got the slipper chairs from? I think you’ve convinced me to get the Victor chair- I’ve been stalking it for a while!
