A family in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood worked with west elm Home Stylist Jody McCallum to help furnish their small dining area…

This young family wanted to keep the dining area simple. Their glass dining table was simple and clean but needed four dining chairs to add warmth. I suggested the John Vogel dining chairs — their textured, woven seat and curved wood back work well with the existing wood buffet cabinet with the patterned brass front. We also loved the lines of the curved seat back against the square lines of the dining table.

The small dining space needed lighting but we could not drop a chandelier so we added two Gourd Table Lamps in Charcoal on the buffet. The smoky grey glass base adds to the charcoal seat of the John Vogel Chairs. Since the dining space is open to their living room, we thought the ‘mix’ added to the aesthetic of the room. We wanted to extend the mix of leather, organic woods, and metals.

Thanks Jody + west elm Chelsea!
