4 Questions with Lindsay Landis of Love & Olive Oil

We first learned about Lindsay Landis through her quest to develop the ultimate raw cookie dough recipe, and her subsequent Cookie Dough Lovers Cookbook. Discovering Love & Olive Oil, the food blog she co-authors with her husband Taylor, only endeared us to Lindsay even more. Read on for her answers to our holiday food questions…
What’s your favorite dish to bring to a holiday potluck?
Dessert. When given a choice I will always bring dessert. Something like these s’mores tarts or spicy cookie dough truffles would be sure crowd-pleasers. One of my personal favorites, the Avalanche Bars, are super easy to throw together last minute.
Sweet Potatoes vs. Mashed Potatoes?
Mashed. With a ton of garlic, cream, and butter. Unless it’s dessert, then sweet, baked into a pie or cupcakes.
Favorite weird holiday leftover meal?
I’ll tell you Thanksgiving has always been one of our favorite holidays, and the leftovers are a bit part of that. My favorite way to use them is what I call a “Thanksgiving Sandwich”, with turkey, potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce between two slices of bread. Strange, perhaps, but incredibly delicious. We also usually freeze a bunch of turkey to make mini pot pies later on as well.
What’s another blog that inspires your food POV?
If I’m looking for inspiration I need not go further than Todd & Diane of White on Rice. They are two of the most positive, inspiring people I have the honor of knowing. Just looking at their images and reading their stories makes me want to be a better blogger and person overall
