Our favorite food bloggers inspire us to cook at home and make us hungry every day. We wanted to know them a little better. So we’re getting together to chat all throughout the Holidays!
Sara Forte’s Sprouted Kitchen is a California-tinged food blog worthy of its very own eponymous cookbook, The Sprouted Kitchen: A Tastier Take on Whole Foods. We like it so much that we’re carrying Sara’s book our flagship west elm Market store right now! Read on for her answers to our holiday food questions…
What’s your favorite dish to bring to a Holiday potluck?
Salad for sure. The food always tends to be so heavy, I like having the control of keeping at least one thing light and fresh. This year I am going to make one with chopped romaine, kale, pom seeds, marcona almonds and a herb packed vinaigrette. Something similar to this one that I made last year.
Sweet Potatoes vs. Mashed Potatoes?
I prefer roasted sweet potatoes, either wedges or cubes, when given the choice. I like the crispy edges!
Favorite weird Holidays leftover meal?
I lightly dress my salads, so the leftovers are good for a day. I like to take the leftover salad and roasted sweet potatoes and roll them up in a brown rice tortilla. I am repurposing my two favorite things from the meal!
What’s another blog that inspires your food POV?
I enjoy Happyyolks, 101cookbooks, Not Without Salt, and Roost Blog. To limit it to four out of the few dozen that I read is still tough!
Thanks Sara!
