FEATURED: Souk Rug
WHY IT WORKS: Brad is a west elm employee who recently updated his living room rug with west elm’s Souk Rug — a shaggy, tasseled rug hand-crafted with New Zealand wool…
I recently decided that my living room needed a quick, pick-me-up, but there wasn’t really anything that I was willing to part with other than the rug. I had the rug for 10 years and I had no emotional connection to it. Everyone assumes because I work for west elm that my entire home is west elm — which is the furtherest from the truth. However, as our assortment has expanded, it’s become more and more difficult to restrain myself! Enter the Souk Rug! I love the handmade aspect with a throw back to vintage design, which works perfect in my 1960′s MCM ranch.
Thanks for sharing Brad!

Wow, I love the change. It really brightened the room up! I also love how the pillow you already had works with it too. The rug looks so soft I want to walk across it barefoot.

The rug is great – makes a big difference. You can focus more on the couch and accessories, rather than the rug. Also the area looks bigger.

Great question Akhan, and I certainly understand your concern. It is difficult to answer your question, because I believe it depend on the traffic and use of the room. My living room is seldom used and has very low traffic, so I personally have not experienced the shedding. I will say, that with most of our rugs at West Elm, there is some initial shedding that happens, but subsides over time.
Hope this helps!
