WHY IT WORKS: The tiny entryway in Cait’s Florida home needed a thoughtful update — a place to throw housekeys + mail and a little storage to boot. After some planning with her Entryway Inspiration Board on Pinterest, Cait and her husband built a custom console and used some west elm basics for the final touches…
When my husband and I bought our 1950s house the entryway (or lack there of) left something to be desired. We were inspired by west elm’s Chunky Console table (which was unfortunately too long for the small wall), so we built a table top from red oak and paired it with hairpin legs. The Braided Storage Basket is the perfect spot for shoes, the Hammered Dip Bowl is great for loose change, and there is still plenty of room for a few decorative objects like our Mercury Glass Bird.
