Adding shimmer and shine to your decor is easy with west elm’s expanded options for mercury glass and foxed mirrors — just in time for holiday entertaining!

Mercury glass (sometimes called silvered glass) was originally produced in the mid 19th century in England, Germany and eastern Europe and soon made its way to the United States. A thin coat of silvering is applied to the inside of the glass. It’s one of the first historical examples of art glass — glass being produced exclusively for display and aesthetics over utilitarian uses. The west elm collection of mercury glass includes traditional curvy vases, modern shapes, an assortment of hurricanes and candle pedestals, votives and our special owls — 50% of the purchase price of each Mercury Glass Owl will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A foxed mirror is a mirror that has been distressed to mimic the imperfect and aged appearance of antique mirrors. west elm recently added our Foxed Mirror Buffet, Gem Mirror and Faceted Mirror Lighting to our popular collection of foxed mirror side tables, coffee tables and nightstands.
